The events unfold in Oz. The green-skinned girl Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) enters the Shiz University. Her roommate is fragile Glinda (Ariana Grande). Girls with different temperaments quickly find a common language. Tests are waiting for their friendship, so the character of each will be fully revealed.

The fantasy melodrama «Wicked» is a film adaptation of the Broadway musical. It was staged in 2013 based on the book by Gregory Maguire. His novel is a reinterpretation of the work of F.L. Baum «The Wonderful Wizard of Oz». Maguire explored villainous characters and portrayed the traditional thief in a way that evoked understanding and sympathy. The main roles were entrusted to world-class stars - the winner of the «Emmy» award Cynthia Erivo and the winner of the multi-platinum «Grammy» Ariana Grande. So that the film version of the Broadway production does not lose its beauty and the meanings embedded in it, the film will consist of two parts. The continuation is expected in November 2025.
