In the mountains of Colombia lies a picturesque town. Here lives a large friendly family of Madrigals. Each member of the family has their own unique magical abilities. The only exception in the family is the girl Mirabelle. It has no features, so it is often in the spotlight. One day Mirabelle learns that all the magical powers and abilities of her relatives are under threat.

The cartoon «Encanto» is a new Disney project. It will be the 60th cartoon studio. Production was co-produced by the United States and Colombia. The music for the adventure fantasy was created by Lynn-Manuel Miranda, the same composer who worked on the soundtracks to the cartoon «Coco». Eight original compositions in English and Spanish will be played on the screen. Miranda was the first to talk about the upcoming project in 2016. It was then expected that events would unfold in Brazil. The information was confirmed in January 2020, when the studio announced the names of the director, screenwriters and producers.
