Imagine a French city in the middle of the twentieth century. The bustling life here will be in the pages of a popular American magazine. The editors gathered in the editorial office to select three stories from the life of the city that will be published. It will definitely disappoint someone, irritate someone, and give some a second breath to live and love.

The comedy melodrama «The French Dispatch» is a co-production of Germany and the United States. The film was shot by director Wes Anderson ("Budapest Hotel") in his recognizable style. In addition to directing, Anderson co-wrote the screenplay, which he co-wrote with Jason Schwartzman and 2013 Oscar nominee Roman Coppola for Best Screenplay. Filmed from November 2018 to March 2019 in a small town in the south of France. The film was expected to premiere at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. Due to the coronavirus infection pandemic, the event was canceled and the appearance on the screens of cinemas was postponed.
